Dear Songbird Community,
In the midst of so much uncertainty, it's heartening and deeply hopeful to me to watch all the good things that people are doing in our community. While many things are troubling us, I wanted to write just to let you know that Songbird is available to you: to gather, to process, to seek and create.

Songbird at Amity Arts Center is a maker-space centered in creativity and community care as spiritual practice. The vision of Songbird is to be a gathering space for multi-cultural and interfaith communal art projects, critical conversations, performances and music; bringing together grassroots organizers, artists and spiritual seekers who want to take care of their neighbors and build a better world.
Located in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church of Beacon, 50 Liberty St. Beacon NY.
Friday November 21 6:30pm - Growing Up in the Age of AI Parents and Caregivers! Please join us for an in-person, generative, non-technical conversation about kids and AI. This is a space to connect, explore, and build resources together. Childcare provided.
Led by Greta Byrum and Loren Miller.
Friday December 5 at 7:30pm Compassion Based Resilience Training (CBRT) Join this freely-given gathering to learn tools in stress-reduction and self-healing that can help us sustain lives of well-being, engagement and purpose in our interdependent world.

Weekly Happenings
Mystical Christianity: the night was in the midst of her course This group practices Centering prayer, a type of meditation that’s in relationship with God, as we understand God. Each week we read a sacred text and practice deep listening and sharing as the spirit moves us. Wednesdays at 6pm Led by Shay Janna.
No Mud No Lotus Meditation Circle, in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. Led by Greta Byrum. Every week, we share the simple and powerful practice of sitting, breathing, and being together. BYO floor cushion. Mondays 6:45-8pm
Sunday Deep Talks, a sacred text study, with broadly defined sacred texts. From 2-3:30pm on most Sundays we light a candle, reflect on a poem and see what thoughts come to our minds. It's a time to think creatively, and to intentionally make space for meaning-making in the week. Led by Katrina Ross Zezza
Fareground Welcome Table every Friday 5:30-7:30pm No one should have to eat alone or go without a warm meal. Fareground Welcome Table is a free community dinner held every Friday in Beacon. These dinners are about more than food; they create a welcoming space where people can connect, share a meal, and experience dignity and inclusion. Fareground Welcome Table is a collaboration between First Presbyterian Church of Beacon, Songbird Studio, and Fareground Food + Community.
*No registration or RSVP is required for any special events or weekly happenings, drop ins are welcome. All events at Songbird are sober friendly and open to the public, donations for the artists are greatly appreciated!
